What's the difference between transfer in L1 and L2?

The basic function is similar for users to transfer certain assets to another address. In L1 wallet, you enter L1 long-string addresses to make transactions; while in Legend L2 wallet, you transfer to L2 short-domain addresses with ".zec" suffix.

L2 Transfer in Mobile App

Step 1: Click the lightning-shaped button on the L2 Legend homepage to select a token, or click on the asset you want and select "Transfer" on the asset detail page.

Step 2: Enter another L2 address to receive the asset and input the transfer amount within the limit of your balance. You can also select a contact's address from your address book or scan the QR code of the receiver's address. You can even add a transfer memo to the receiver.

Step 3: Click "Transfer" and check the details. On Legend, gas fees are paid in BNB and are fixed at 0.1%.

Step 4: Confirm and enter your password to complete the transaction.

L2 Transfer in Extension

Step 1: Click Transfer on the L2 Legend homepage to select a token.

Step 2: Enter another L2 address (xxx.zec) to receive the asset and input the transfer amount within the limit of your balance.

Step 3: Click "Transfer" and check the details. On Legend, gas fees are paid in BNB and are fixed at 0.1%.

Step 4: Confirm the transaction.
